Oxidation is one of the important reasons of rubber V-belt aging. Oxygen undergoes free radical chain reactions with rubber molecules, causing molecular chains to break or become excessively cross-linked, which leads to changes in the rubber's properties.

2. High-temperature environment

A relatively high working temperature is an important factor that causes thermal decomposition or thermal cross-linking of rubber.

3. Mechanical stress

V-belts are used on machinery, and repeated mechanical stress can cause rubber molecular chains to break, triggering oxidation chain reactions and affecting normal use.

4. Wet environment

Water-soluble substances and hydrophilic groups in the rubber are extracted and dissolved by water. V-belts are easily damaged when exposed to humid air, rain, or soaked in water.
